1939 BABE RUTH PHOTOGRAPH TYPE 1 AUTHENTIC (COACHING) Babe Ruth's dream after retiring from baseball in 1935 was to become the coach of the Yankees! Sadly, he was never granted the opportunity even though he brought baseball to its glory. Do to his reckless living in his younger years most teams didn't trust he would be a good fit to be a manager. This photograph shows Ruth for the short stint he had with the Dodgers in 1939... in 1948 Ruth died of throat cancer and his life became a myth and he became the legend he is today, immortalized in baseball glove. This is one of the rarest images you can find of Ruth in his short tenure as team manager.
